The Barle is a great trip for those learning whitewater skills and at low/ medium
levels offers pretty much continuous Grade 2 conditions. As such it is a “must” for
anyone wishing to improve their white water skills having taken part in our Wye Valley
and Lower Dart trips.
The trip paddles from the ancient stone clapper bridge at Tarr Steps through some of the most beautiful scenery in Exmoor down to Dulverton.
The river has many sections of interesting small drops with numerous tight breakouts and eddy lines. Features include Clangers folly - a series of 5 drops with 13 breakout points possible for those who like a challenge.
If you are interested in attending, please let Simon Champion know as they will act as places are limited by the access agreement. Please check the web site nearer the event, for latest updates on water levels, start times etc.
Venue: River Barle, Tarr Steps, Tarr Farm, North Devon.
Trip: White Water River Trip approx 7 miles to Dulverton.
Grade: Amber/Red - River trip suitable for competent paddlers of all ages with 2 star and with White water experience from Symonds Yat Rapids and the Lower Dart as a definite advantage.
